I’ve been reading a great post by Mark Sisson entitled, “The Case Against Cardio.”
I thought I’d share it here.

I have to say its making me definitely rethink some of my workouts. Not that I’m stopping P90X by any means, but I may modify some of the routines and add some different activities.
Its also making me think that my thoughts of running the Chicago Marathon might be a bit misguided.
I declared that a goal when I was a bit “fed up” with the fact that I had put some pounds back on. I thought to myself, “I know how I’ll lose fat, I’ll run like crazy.”
Thing was, I watched a movie on Netflix called “The Spirit of the Marathon.” I was a bit amazed how many fat marathoners there are out there. Overall, yes, very aerobically fit folks, but there are plenty of runners that don’t epitomize the image of fitness.
So, I may be sticking to a primal plan for my fitness regimen. I’ll keep you all posted.

Wow, I’ve got a lot to catch up on.
I started P90X again on the 9th of January. Now, this time I’m easing myself into it. Having done P90X before, I know what I may be capable of. However my strength levels aren’t where they were 10 months ago when I had done P90X twice. So, I have to consciously hold back on some of the weight and reps I attempt.
Things have been going well. It’s just funny how different your posture is when you’re working out. I don’t know what it is, whether it’s the muscle soreness, or something else. I just know that when I’m doing strength training, I walk taller, my posture is different. It’s a good feeling.
Now, things haven’t been perfect. I’ve had a few really busy days. For example, this last Saturday, I didn’t have the time for all of Chest and Back. So, I just BROUGHT IT, all out full speed on the first half of Chest and Back. To be frank, I was more sore from this than I was the week prior where I did both rounds of exercises but held back a bit. So, this s a good option for you now and then if you’re crunched for time.
My diet has been great. I’ve been trying to follow “The Primal Blueprint” by Mark Sisson I’ve been eating very clean and other than the slice of peanut butter pie Monica and I shared for our anniversary dinner, my diet has been spot on.

We all love fries, don’t we?! Some of us even crave them. They’re so tasty and can really satisfy a salty craving. The question is, “How can I eat something I really like but ensure it is healthier?”
PS: Should you be hosting Superbowl Sunday this weekend these sweet potato fries are a great addition in your healthy snack line-up!
Wednesdays are already said to become essentially the most difficult day with the week with the Biggest Loser Resort. It is “hump day” and individuals are usually having to address a bit harder to get with the day. I find this to get the same inside my own life. Wednesdays seem to be the most difficult to me and that i find myself craving some sort of sweet treat to have me through or enjoy on the end of a long day. Treats that I have eaten within the past usually do not coincide with a healthy life style, so that as I’ve made changes in my own life I have sought hard to discover treats that do! Thank you, Chef Cameron Payne, to be amazing! Chef Cameron has created all from the recipes used at our Biggest Loser Resorts. He includes a gift, to repeat the least, and i am just glad which he is sharing it with all the rest of us!
Since it really is Wednesday and all, I believe it really is only fair only share with you a favorite from Chef Cam’s repertoire!

If healthy eating, food may be redundant and boring. So, always in the right way to try new foods! Find a new fruit or vegetable juices every time the shop and find a new recipe, as prepared. Finding a specialty food store or surf the ethnic food store. Finding a new whole grain and use it everywhere you use brown rice or whole wheat pasta. Rather than just chicken and turkey, try different types of fish or pork. Cooking Fun!
There is often a portion of healing and rejuvenation that takes place at Fitness Ridge that I’ve been really anxious to share with you! Let me take you when camping to the spa.
At the finish of each and every long and exhausting day we open up our spa being a location for guests to relax, heal, and unwind. Yesterday was considered one of those long and exhausting days for me and i also knew exactly some tips i needed! It’s my job to opt to get a traditional Swedish massage since they feel so good and are so relaxing, but as of yesterday evening my opinion has officially changed. I still love a fantastic Swedish massage, but I was introduced to something We’ve never experienced before, and it absolutely was amazing! It’s known as the lomi lomi massage in support of one of our gifted therapists performs this incredible massage.
Meet Marie.
Marie is fantastic in every modalities she performs, but this kind of massage requires a gift and he or she has it!
Lomi lomi is a massage originating in Hawaii and traditionally used being a healing practice of native healers, a luxury with an aid to digestion, and restorative massage inside the family. Like all endeavors in old Hawaii, lomi lomi is conducted with prayer and intention. I had never met Marie prior to your massage but from the end I felt like I can wrapped my arms around her like we’d been friends our whole lives. Her power to connect with people using this modality is amazing.
Several different oils are utilized throughout this massage, which did greater than I expected!
My least favorite thing about a massage is when fast some time goes. Sometimes I’m just like the therapist is rushing to get through everything prior to 50 minutes are up. But with Marie I kept wondering only had accidentally booked an 80 minute massage since it felt want it just kept going and going. Turns out it turned out only 50 minutes, but she just flows so well who’s felt like a lot longer, that we LOVED! I do not want to hand out all of the secrets of the lomi lomi because I’d like you to go through it yourself once you come, on the other hand definitely suggest booking at the very least one lomi lomi in your stay. Since Marie is our only therapist that performs the lomi lomi, you’re thank you for visiting call and book way before you even arrive! And make sure you allow me to know what you think! I’m already ready for the next one!
When presented with a choice, always select the least processing option. For example, if you are in front of the machine, you can see the peanut butter cookies, chocolate bars, pop, pretzels and nuts. Of these I would choose the nuts. Of course, if a package is likely to be roasted and salted, but I bet the ingredients list is much shorter than the other options. Ideally, products packaged receive 5 ingredients or less. If an apple is available in the vending machine, the better. They know not to do!
